MADE TO ORDER

We Make What Is Needed. Not What We Hope Will Sell.

One of the biggest differences in the way we manufacture isn't something you'll necessarily see when you pick up an In.It garment.

It's when we make it.

Traditional apparel manufacturing often works around forecasting.

Large quantities of garments are manufactured months in advance.

Sizes are predicted.

Colours are predicted.

Styles are predicted.

Demand is predicted.

Warehouses are filled with finished products waiting for someone to buy them.

Sometimes those predictions are right.

Sometimes they're not.

And when they're wrong, perfectly usable clothing becomes excess inventory.

Our approach is different.

We manufacture around actual demand.

Reducing Unnecessary Production

Every finished garment represents resources that have already been used.

Cotton has been grown.

Yarn has been spun.

Fabric has been knitted and dyed.

The garment has been cut and sewn.

Energy has been consumed.

People have invested their time and skill.

Producing finished garments without confirmed demand increases the risk of those products eventually becoming unwanted or dead stock.

Our made-to-order model helps us avoid speculative finished inventory by manufacturing according to the orders we actually receive.

Materials, Not Mountains of Finished Stock

Made to order doesn't mean we hold no inventory.

We keep the materials required to manufacture efficiently - fabric, ribbing, thread, printing consumables and packaging.

The difference is that we don't need to convert all of those materials into finished garments before we know what our customers require.

Fabric is flexible.

It can become different products and different sizes depending on demand.

Once it has been cut and sewn, those options disappear.

Keeping materials flexible for longer allows us to manufacture more intentionally.

Not Zero Waste. Less Unnecessary Waste.

Manufacturing will always have an impact.

Cutting creates offcuts.

Machines use electricity.

Decoration requires materials.

Packaging and transport are necessary.

We don't claim to be zero waste.

Our approach is much more practical:

Don't manufacture something unless there's a reason to manufacture it.

Made to order helps us reduce unnecessary production and the risk of speculative finished stock becoming waste.

Local Makes It Possible

Our local supply chain helps make this model possible.

Our PrincipleMake what is ordered.

The End of the Journey. The Beginning of Your Brand.

What began as cotton has travelled through an entire manufacturing chain before becoming the blank in your hands.

We've chosen to understand that journey, support more of it locally where practical and make better decisions at each stage.

We don't claim that manufacturing is impact-free.

We believe in something more useful:

Source responsibly.
Make locally.
Reduce unnecessary production.
Keep improving.

Because by the time your logo goes onto an In.It garment, there is already a story behind it.
